I hate the rain in Santiago
I thought monday would be a great day because my university classes ended early. Also, I went to lunch vegan food with my best friend in Santiago center. Half the day was perfect until it started raining. Generally I don't believe in the weather prediction, because it always fail and we are living the consequences of global warming. So I clearly didn't think it would rain on monday however what seemed impossible became real.
The scene was cold and windy, dark clouds covered the sky. The beginning was a slow and silent rain and then transformed into hailstones. The streets of Santiago were flooded, people just wanted to go home but crossing the streets was impossible. The university doesn't have the necessary infrastructure either. It was terrible.
In my house, the electricity and water were cut off. We didn't have light until the next day, luckily the water was replaced before. At 9 pm I was in my bed looking at the ceiling because I couldn't do anything. I had to do a lot of things for college, but my computer had no battery, the mobile internet was very slow and my cell phone had a low battery. I couldn't go to a friend because, as I told you, I needed a boat.
In my bed I was thinking about a lot of things. I don't understand how Santiago collapsed in a 40-minute rain. I don't understand why private electricity and water companies don't take care of these situations. I was thinking of the MOM books on privatization during the dictatorship. I was thinking about how dependent we are on light (because it's good to be water).
Well, I must be transparent and tell them something: I hate rain because I am from the north and ugly days make me feel sad :( (I love the sun). Son in clonclusion I hate the rain and I hate Santiago for collapsing like this but I understand it's our fault because we do so little for global warming.

I love rain, rain is live!

ResponderEliminarI understand your hatred for the rain even though I sometimes like it, but it's quite selfish because I have a roof and a house. But yes, Santiago collapses when it rains and nobody takes care of it :(
ResponderEliminarThat sounds very tragic! I was in the Cajón del maipo and also was terrible, because
